The Hillcrest Academy boys soccer team makes the trip to Donnellson Monday to meet Central Lee in a Southeast Iowa Superconference contest. The Ravens are 4-2 on the season after back to back wins over Wapello and Tipton Friday and Saturday, winning by a combined 9-1 score. The Ravens are led on the season by Noah Miller with six goals. John Hughes has a team best three assists and in goal, Aiden Krabill has 49 saves and a 77.8% save percentage.
Central Lee is 4-5 entering tonight. They beat the Centerville Big Reds 1-0 on Friday. For the season the Hawks are led by Seth Mayes with 12 goals, Mason Schau with six assists and Blake Moeller in goal has 85 saves and a 70.2% save percentage. The Ravens have won nine straight in the series by a 38-3 score. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Central Lee High School.
The Hillcrest Academy boys and girls track teams traveled to Donnellson Monday night for the Central Lee Hawk and Lady Hawk Relays. The Raven boys finished fifth of five teams with 16 points. New London won the boys team title with 118 points. Hillcrest took home a pair of event championships on the night with Aaron Hershberger winning the 400m hurdles in a new personal record time of 1:00.03 and he beat the field in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.99 seconds. Other participants for the Ravens included Quang Huynh and Andrew Starr running the 100 and 200m dash.
The Hillcrest girls scored seven points, finishing fifth of five teams. Danville won the team championship with 135 points. Madeline Fox posted the top finish for the Ravens, taking runner-up in the 3000m with a time of 14:17.81. She finished fifth in the 100m hurdles in a personal record time of 20.04 seconds.
