Dumpster fire spreads to nearby trees in central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) Fire crews were able to knock out what started as a dumpster fire before it spread to a nearby apartment in central Fresno.
ABC30 Insider Mollie Sollie-Thomas sent video of the fire that broke out just before 10:30 Tuesday night on Harvard and Maroa.
Fire crews arrived to find flames had spread to two large trees adjacent to the Maroa Lanai apartments.
One person was treated on scene for a minor burn injury.
There is no word on what caused the fire.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) Two families are getting help from the Red Cross after a fire forced them from their homes on Tuesday morning.
The fire was first reported shortly before 12:30 pm at an apartment complex on Yosemite near Voorman in central Fresno.
Fire investigators say it started on a stove in an upstairs apartment and spread into the attic space and an air duct.
Firefighters pulled down some of the ceilings and extinguished the smoldering insulation.
No one was hurt, but there was a report of a man who suffered a broken finger using a fire extinguisher.

Officials say flames broke out at the home on Fruit and Brown just before 4:30 am.
When crews arrived, they saw the fire ripping through one side of the house. Those flames threatened the neighbor s home next door.
Units were on scene for at least five hours working to knock the fire down.
Investigators are calling the house a hoarder home and they say a lot of property was piled up inside the house, keeping the fire burning strong.
The house is considered a complete loss.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) Firefighters stopped flames from damaging a business in central Fresno.
The fire was first reported just before 1:00 am in a strip mall on Broadway Street near Belmont Avenue.
Officials say the fire started in a dumpster underneath the overhang of a roof. It then spread to a seamstress shop.
The store had minor damage, mainly from firefighters who needed to access the building. Fire crews made certain there was no fire in the walls or ceiling.
The building is occupied by Munoz Upholstery and will be without electricity since the power meters were involved in the fire, officials said.
