Wicked Local The Burlington Board of Selectmen amended the town’s alcohol policy this week, in order to encourage smaller eateries to open in town. Noting the proliferation of chain restaurants in Burlington, the board voted to change the seating capacity from 120 for an all-alcohol license to 30 seats. Restaurants will be required to have 20 seats to obtain a beer and wine license. Selectman Michael Runyan said the COVID pandemic has served as a reminder of how important restaurants and hotels are to the town’s operating budget, and that property owners have reported difficulty in finding restaurants willing to open due to the seating requirement.
