The Burlington town election is April 10, and already there are several contested races: Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Town Clerk.
Feb. 17 is the deadline to obtain nomination papers to declare candidacy for a town office. The Burlington Union/Wicked Local will interview candidates in contested races up to Election Day.
Shari Ellis, a Town Meeting member for 25 years, is challenging the current chairman, Joseph Morandi, and member Michael Runyan for one of two three-year seats available on the Board of Selectmen. (While Town Meeting voted last week to change the name of the town’s executive board to Select Board, the name change has not yet been approved by the state Legislature.)
