“You can’t just eat into it or you’ll burn your mouth,” said a co-owner of the burger with cheese in the middle. “That’s how you know it’s a good one.”
Det. Manning (Lance Reddick) dances with hotel maid Lena (Nutsa Kukhianidze) after she accepts an offer from a man who arranges parties in her hotel in Dirty Work, a crime thriller set in Chicago.
In three days I saw three movies in a row about crooked cops and criminals. All three movies were good to one degree or another, and all three were familiar in the same old ways: I saw guys with five o clock shadows from the day before yesterday, and long-suffering wives, and corrupt police captains, and rotten politicians, and drug deals, and hookers and cons and ex-cons and high-speed chases and innocent bystanders and a variety of ways to die. Dirty Work was not the best of these films, but it was the only one with an original character. I wish every casting director in the business could see this movie and study the work of Austin Pendleton.
Brookline’s First Light a hit, despite COVID restrictions

Brookline rang in the holiday season virtually last week with the town’s annual First Light Celebration.
Given restrictions surrounding COVID-19, the festival was moved to a completely online platform, and local businesses took a different approach from years past to ensure Brookline residents safety while still keeping the festival s tradition alive.
Instead of the celebration taking place over the course of one day, like in years past, First Light was a week-long extravaganza starting Dec. 3 and ending at midnight on Dec. 10. This extra time gave businesses the chance to get a bit more creative.
