People are being asked to walk, run or cycle to raise funds for north Tipperary and Offaly Hospices in the coming weeks.
The ‘TippOff Hospice Challenge’ is a cross-county collaboration between both services, which aims to raise money in a difficult fundraising environment during the pandemic.
Before the end of June, people are being asked to cover 5k, 10k or a half marathon distance and logging their walk, run or cycle times on ‘myrunresults.com’.

ON what was an excellent weekend for Offaly GAA, it is a shame that the O Connor Park lease row between the Offaly GAA County Board and Tullamore GAA Club dominated a lot of public talk.
The row escalated further last week with a lengthy Tullamore letter to clubs outlining their case and adding further timber to an already blazing fire.
The row has been well publicised in recent weeks. It erupted after the County Board sought a reduction of their yearly rent to Tullamore GAA for O Connor Park because of Covid-19. They sought a reduction of €14,061 because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resultant financial hit they took and when that wasn t granted, they took the decision not to pay it.

A ROW between Tullamore GAA Club and the Offaly GAA County Board over the payment of the lease for O Connor Park has escalated further. Tullamore GAA Club have clearly stated that they have no appetite for selling O Connor Park to the County Board, there is no provision for a review of the lease and that they will engage a formal legal arbitration process to solve the impasse. They also expressed disappointment with Offaly GAA, Leinster Council and Croke Park in a six page statement.
