Pontiac man wanted in fatal shooting arrested in Ohio A convicted murderer was arrested Saturday night near Toledo, Ohio, by the U.S. Marshals Service in connection to a fatal Pontiac shooting. Michael Jerome Davis, 65, faces charges including open murder, attempted murder and two counts of using a firearm during a felony, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Sunday. The sheriff’s fugitive apprehension team s investigation led to Davis’ arrest by federal marshals around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. It is believed Davis does not plan to fight extradition and may be returned to Michigan this week, Bouchard said. “We are appreciative of our partnership with the United States Marshals and are glad to have this murder suspect in custody,” Bouchard said in a press release. “Having already murdered a person before this incident, he clearly is a huge danger to the community. Our thoughts are with the victim’s families and friends.”

Michael Jerome Davis, 65, of Pontiac, was identified as being involved in the shooting that happened at about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of South Marshall Street. Deputies said Davis is believed to be armed and dangerous, cautioning residents not to approach him. According to the sheriff’s office, he was previously convicted of aggravated murder in Ohio in 1984 and then convicted of murder while in prison in 1991. He was paroled from Ohio in 2006.

Michael Jerome Davis Authorities said deputies were on patrol around 8 p.m. Wednesday when a 60-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her hand ran out of a house in the 200 block of S. Marshall yelling that she had been shot. The woman told authorities that she was in her bedroom when Davis pointed a handgun at her and told her to go into the bathroom until a mutual friend arrived. He instructed her to get in the bathtub then allegedly shot her.

Michael Jerome Davis, 65, of Pontiac is armed and dangerous and should not be approached, deputies said in a news release Thursday. The sheriff s office said the surviving victim, a 60-year-old Waterford Township woman, identified Davis as the man responsible for the shootings, which occurred about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of S. Marshall in Pontiac. Deputies were on patrol in the area when the woman ran into the street and flagged them down, asking for help. She had been wounded in the hand, deputies said.
