This budget is like a roadmap for all-round development with security and dignity to women and making human capital efficient and prosperous. It touches all dimensions from âease of doing businessâ in the state to âease of livingâ and is compatible with all expectations of âself-reliant Uttar Pradeshâ.
The term âbudgetâ in economics is nothing but a statement of the income and expenditure of the government which shows sectoral allocations and expenses.
However, in true sense, budget is a key document that shows the fiscal situation, the future goals of the government, vision of leadership and the progress of the state.

UP has allocated 8.2 per cent of its total expenditure for roads and bridges.
In the 2021 budget, Uttar Pradeshâs allocation for the infrastructure and health sectors as a percentage of total expenditure is higher than the average allocation for these sectors by states, an analysis by PRS Legislative Research says.
The Yogi Adityanath government, doubling down on infrastructure ahead of the 2022 assembly election in the state, has allocated 8.2 per cent of its total expenditure for roads and bridges, which is almost double the average allocation by states at 4.3 per cent (2020-21 budget estimate or BE).
Hitting out at the Uttar Pradesh government in the assembly, opposition parties on Thursday said the Yogi Adityanath dispensation had promised to double farmers income and provide jobs to youths but the budget for 2021-22 has nothing on how it will fulfil these promises. The budget would be of no help for the common people of the state, they said. The Yogi Adityanath government presented the last budget of its term on Monday, earmarking a big slice of it for infrastructural projects and listing schemes for farmers. Presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in the assembly, the over Rs 5.5 lakh crore budget is more than Rs 37,410 crore bigger than the previous one, making it the largest in the state so far.
