Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to reports of a shed on fire with a vehicle inside it near Research Boulevard and 22nd Street around 12:03 p.m. Black smoke was visible in the area. LFR crews arrived on scene and reported the shed to be well involved with two nearby structures exposed. Crews were abled to quickly extinguish the fire.

The two-alarm blaze was reported about 5 p.m. in the Omni Apartments in the 4800 block of 54th Street, according to a statement from Lubbock Fire Rescue. About 15 units were impacted by fire or smoke damage. It was not immediately clear what prompted the blaze, which remained under investigation by the Lubbock Fire Marshal s Office.
