The district announced the new administrators May 28.  We are pleased to have these strong administrators taking on new roles and responsibilities,” Buncombe County Schools Tony Baldwin said in a press release. “We know there is hard work ahead as we all continue to recover in the wake of the pandemic. These are the right principals to take the helm and help lead the way to student success.” Here s the new leadership at county schools, as described in the release: Carrie Lynch is the new principal at Avery’s Creek Elementary School. Lynch, the 2021 BCS Principal of the Year, is currently the principal at W.D. Williams Elementary School. Her past assignments include assistant principal at W.D. Williams and Asheville City Schools Ira B. Jones Elementary School.

Some Nonconference Start Times Announced For OU, OSU

By: Nate Kotisso OKLAHOMA CITY - The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday select nonconference start times for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State s 2021 schedules. The Sooners schedule will have a pair of 11 a.m. kickoffs in September. OU will travel to Tulane on Sept. 4 and will host former Big Eight-rival Nebraska on Sept. 18. OU s Sept. 11 home opener against Western Carolina does not yet have a kickoff time. OSU s season will start with back-to-back home dates against Missouri State (6 p.m. on Sept. 4) and Tulsa (11 a.m. on Sept. 11). The Cowboys will then fly to Idaho to meet the Boise State Broncos for an 8 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 18.
