La Salle Avenue might get a facelift, businesses and locals are excited about the change

WACO, TX â Like many areas in Waco, the La Salle Avenue Corridor can be added to the list of those looking to get a serious makeover. La Salle has a reputation for being one of the largest corridors in the city and was used even before I-35 was created.
With so much rich history, plans to revitalize the area have been in the works. The City of Waco started first by funding a $47,000 research project to learn what changes could be made and why it s important to do so.

In total 2,828 people have been recognised in the king’s birthday honours list which was published on Monday.
This year’s recipients include comedian Claudia de Breij, bridge master Anton Maas and volunteer Mary Benjamin, who at the age of 110 is the oldest person ever to have been recognized in the list.
The annual honours list is always announced the day before the monarch’s birthday and focuses mainly on people who have made a major contribution to society, usually in the form of volunteering.
Traditionally, the honours are handed out by local mayors at the country’s town halls, but this year coronavirus prompted them to be more creative. Some mayors visited the recipients on a decorated bike, while in Westland a camper was converted for the day.

Shooting at FedEx building in Indianapolis
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said they responded to an active shooter incident after 11 p.m. Thursday night at the FedEx Ground facility at 8951 Mirabel Rd. just south of I-70 near Ameriplex Parkway and across the interstate from the Indianapolis International Airport.
Police said eight people were killed in the mass shooting and five victims with gunshot wounds were transported to several area hospitals for treatment. Two other victims were treated by medics at the scene and released.

ANSONIA Amy Brejwo started teaching at Emmett O’Brien Technical High School in 2019 and already made her mark: She has just been named the school’s Teacher of the Year.
Principal Laurie LeBouthillier made the announcement over the intercom two weeks ago during the last school period of the day. Brejwo, a literature teacher at the school’s literacy lab, was showing her students how to use prefixes, she said.
The announcement came as a shock: “Wait a minute, did she just say my name?” Brejwo said she thought to herself at the time. “I mean, this is only my second year here.”
