Chefs and foodservice pros honored at PMA Foodservice conference
United Fresh will celebrate nine of the country s most innovative chefs and foodservice professionals this July during the PMA Foodservice Conference & Expo in Monterey, CA as part of the United Fresh Produce Excellence in Foodservice Award Program, sponsored by FreshEdge™.
The program honors chefs and their companies for their creativity in highlighting fresh produce on their menus, introducing diners to new flavors and presenting creative ways to enjoy fresh produce.
“It’s always a privilege for us to recognize culinary stars who are creating produce-centric menus that lead to a renewed interest in fresh produce,” said Tom Stenzel, president & CEO, United Fresh Produce Association. “With our associations soon to be joining forces, it’s a great next step to begin incorporating our programs, driving member value to our broader communities.”
United Fresh volunteer leadership groups to remain through 2021
With the recent decision of the Board of Directors and endorsement of the membership to combine with the Produce Marketing Association to form a new association in 2022, the current United Fresh Board of Directors, market segment boards and expert advisory councils will remain in place and continue to guide the association through 2021.
In addition, the current Chairman-Elect Danny Dumas, President of Courchesne Larose USA, will become Chairman of the Board effective June 1. He will take the reins from Michael Muzyk, President of Baldor Specialty Foods, who led the association through the pandemic year since March 2020.
