UPDATE 5/18/21 @ 6:45 p.m.
: On May 17 at 3:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Josephine Road in Waldorf to serve an arrest warrant for a man who had violated his probation related to a prior assault conviction. A family member of the man had recently contacted the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office to advise the man was violating his probation. A warrant was subsequently issued.
On May 17, a relative of the man called 9-1-1 and reported he was at the house on Josephine Road. The caller also indicated the man had mental health history. Officers began coordinating a plan with the goal of taking the man into custody as safely as possible.

Jesse M. Russell, 37
Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged Jesse Marie Russell, 37, after determining she was responsible for intentionally setting curtains on fire in the living room of her Piney Point home on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office were driving by the residence in the 46000 block of Crowder Lane in Piney Point, and observed Russell standing in the foyer with flames visible inside the home.
A structure fire assignment was then dispatched which alerted crews from Valley Lee, Bay District, Leonardtown, NAS Patuxent River and Hollywood.
Deputies stopped and ordered Russell out of the home, where deputies then observed a cigarette lighter in her hand. Deputies extinguished the fire with portable fire extinguishers, and Russell was detained. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was requested to conduct an origin and cause investigation.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 12:40 p.m., police and emergency medical personnel responded to the Motel 6 located at 21847 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, for the reported gunshot victim.

th degree sex offence on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
On July 6, 2020, a deputy from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office met with the victim, a 14-year-old female from St. Mary’s County who told police she met Dunn on Snapchat. The victim said they only communicated on Snapchat and never exchanged phone numbers. After telling Dunn she, the victim was 14 years old, he asked her on more than one occasion to “exchange photos” and sent her photos of his erect penis.
