Police Make Arrest After Woman Shot at Big Dogs Paradise in Mechanicsville | Southern Maryland News Net

May 7, 2021 Dominic Marquay Lucas, age 30 of District Heights On May 7, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m. deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 28700 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville, for the report of a disturbance with shots fired. Deputies arrived on scene and no victim or evidence of a shooting was located at that time. At approximately 2:00 a.m. deputies responded to the 46500 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park, for the report of an individual who had been shot at Big Dogs Paradise Bar in Mechanicsville. A female victim, age 38, was located with two gunshot wounds to her leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later released.

May 6, 2021 The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is proud to welcome K-9 Jade, K-9 Havok and K-9 Maja into our K-9 Unit. All three canines have recently been certified through the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA). K-9 Jade came to the attention of the Sheriff’s Office when she was the victim of an animal cruelty investigation on November 11, 2020. Corporal Dale Smith investigated the complaint of a dog shot multiple times with a BB gun. Animal Control Officers seized the dog in order to get her veterinary care. Due to evidence of ongoing abuse and no owner coming forward to claim her, the seized dog was placed in the care of the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville.

May 4, 2021 On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at approximately 9:40 a.m., the St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center alerted Officers to lookout for a stolen maroon 2016 Kia Sedona mini-van that was last seen in the area of Chancellors Run Road and Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. The owner of the vehicle called 911 to report he spotted his stolen vehicle driving into the Indian Bridge Apartments. Troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack arrived in the area and found the vehicle, a maroon 2016 Kia Sedona with temporally Virginia registration tags parked in front of 45910 Indian Way and observed a female exit the front passenger seat, and a male in the drivers seat. Both occupants were ordered to exit the vehicle and were detained without incident.

May 4, 2021 UPDATE 5/5/2021:On Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 2:25 pm, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle collision into a tree on northbound Hollywood Road near FWD Drive in Hollywood. Upon arrival, police observed a red 1989 Chevrolet S-10 into a tree with a single occupant. The driver was trapped in the car and had to be extricated. The driver was then transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with CPR in progress where he succumbed to his injuries. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to conduct the investigation.
