From a young age, Diana Law shared her father’s interest in helping people.
One day when there was an accident outside Law’s house, she and her father, a doctor, ran out to attend to the victims until help arrived, recalled Glen Culshaw, her husband and best friend since high school. That’s just who Law was, he said.

Culshaw recalled that formative memory this week shortly after Law died at 57 from a months-long fight against complications from COVID-19. She is the first-known nurse in B.C., and the second in Canada, to have died from the disease.

Weav raises $4.3M to knit together a universal API for commerce platforms
Weav, which is building a universal API for commerce platforms, is emerging from stealth today with $4.3 million in funding from a bevy of investors, and a partnership with Brex.
Founded last year by engineers Ambika Acharya, Avikam Agur and Nadav Lidor after participating in the W20 YC batch, Weav joins the wave of fintech infrastructure companies that aim to give fintechs and financial institutions a boost. Specifically, Weav’s embedded technology is designed to give these organizations access to “real time, user-permissioned” commerce data that they can use to create new financial products for small businesses.

Illinois wide receiver Josh Imatorbhebhe tested the NFL Draft process last year before returning to Champaign for the 2020 season. Unfortunately, the Illini offense sputtered and Bhebhe didn’t get the chance to improve upon his stellar 2019 numbers.
