An injection of money intended to expand housing options for middle-income families, along with what’s claimed to be the largest increase to income and disability assistance rates, were among the key elements of B.C.’s latest budget aimed at easing continuing affordability issues faced by British Columbians.
But there were no changes proposed that might address the strong demand for homes spurring a steady upward march of real estate prices around the province.

Some Lower Mainland municipalities and the province are considering or instituting fresh preventive measures intended to curb the spread of COVID-19 at popular outdoor areas that have been slammed with people in recent days.
By day, the problem has been packed parks, trails and beaches, and full parking lots, but by night it has been partying, includinglarge beach bashes in Vancouver last weekend.

West Vancouver, for example, is set to institute traffic-control measures and parking restrictions at and around popular parks in a bid to keep the number of visitors in check. Police, firefighters and bylaw officers will all be on hand to educate and ticket as needed, according to city staff.

“This is a vast, vast story with a huge cast of characters,” Agrelo said, so when making the documentary, she decided to focus on the first 20 years of the show. “The origin is the most groundbreaking, the most experimental period of ‘Sesame Street.’ By reducing the vastness of it, we were able to make it stronger.”
