GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) â A sure sign that summer is around the corner: the Brown County Trail System is opening up this Saturday.
Itâs something theyâre excited to do.
âThe parks department will be opening up the mountain bike trails at the reforestation camp the horse riding trails at Neshota Park, as well as the Fox River horse trails,â said Parks Director Matt Kriese.
He says the trails got a lot of use last year during the COVID-19 Pandemic as people looked outdoors for entertainment.
âThe overall recreational use trends had been increasing even prior to 2020 with COVID,â Kriese said. âWe expect that increased trend to continue through 2021.â

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – For years, the grey-colored tower was a familiar sight for those driving along Nicolet Drive on the city’s northeast side.
But starting Monday, buildings on the Eagles Nest site are coming down.
With a slow and deliberate approach, the excavator driver lined up his first target. Four buildings are set to be demolished this week on the 4.5-acre site in Green Bay, including the decades-old restaurant, and banquet hall called the Eagles Nest.
“Now, it’s just time to get those buildings down, start with a clean slate, and go from there,” said Matt Kriese, Brown County Parks Director.
