Astoria woman shot and killed by state trooper after breaking into home, Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office says

Officers in Clatsop County killed a burglary suspect Monday, Dec. 28. A neighbor said this is the house where it happened.

the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Alaina Burns, 31, died at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The trooper who killed Burns is on paid leave standard procedure after a fatal police shooting. The Sheriff’s Office did not release the trooper’s name.
Deputies responded to the neighborhood near Sunset Beach Monday afternoon after a homeowner reported that a woman he didn’t know had walked into his unlocked house in the 33000 block of Oregon Lane. Burns sequestered herself on the second floor in a room that had guns, sheriff’s officials said.
