An officer killed a woman Monday who walked into a man’s unlocked home near Sunset Beach, barricaded herself inside a room that held several guns, then got onto the roof and waved a gun at officers, Clatsop County authorities said.
The woman died at the scene, according to a statement from the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officials didn’t name the woman or release details of how she died, though neighbors at the scene described hearing gunshots.

Burglary Suspect Shot By Police In Sunset Beach Area Dies Details Published: 29 December 2020
Local police have not yet released the identity of a woman who was shot and killed by police Monday afternoon after she is alleged to have threatened officers with a firearm.
On Monday at 1:40 pm, deputies and officers from several Clatsop County law enforcement agencies responded to a burglary in progress of an occupied home in the 33000 block of Oregon Ln. in the Sunset Beach area.
A 911 caller reported an unknown female walked into his unlocked residence and then barricaded herself in one of the rooms of the residence. The room occupied by the suspect contained several firearms. Deputies on scene attempted to negotiate and deescalate the situation. These efforts were not successful.
