MELROSE, MA Margaret Adams, Melrose Public Schools assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, is a finalist to become Westford s next superintendent.
The Westford School Committee announced it has gotten to four finalists to replace Superintendent Bill Olsen, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
Adams has been in her position in Melrose for the past eight years. She previously worked in Malden and Brockton school districts.

Stony Brook (Westford) Principal Cristopher Chew, Arlington High Principal Matthew Janger and Executive Vice President of Client Services of the New York City Leadership Academy Michele Shannon are the other finalists.
Efforts deliver equality, services to Melrose residents underway with mayor s task force

Melrose residents have responded well to Mayor Paul Brodeur’s call for forming a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism Task Force, submitting applications by the Feb. 5 deadline to join in the city’s efforts to institutionalize equity and deliver city services to all residents.
“We’ve had a positive response,” said Jen Grigoraitis, city councilor from Ward 6. “This is an important step in ensuring that Melrose lives up to its motto: One Community; Open for All. We need to include the voices and lived experiences of residents of color in all we do.”
