With all of the Election Day votes tallied in the city of Rockford, Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Stephenson and DeKalb counties late Tuesday, winners were Nelson with 31% of the vote and Soltow with 37%.

County invites public to virtual corridor study open house

El Paso County, in coordination with the city of Colorado Springs, is working to complete a study of the Briargate Parkway-Stapleton Road corridor between Black Forest and Meridian roads — and now the county is inviting the public to participate in a virtual open house on Friday, April 16. This corridor segment will ultimately be part of a larger, planned principal arterial roadway that will provide improved connectivity within the greater Colorado Springs area and beyond, a county news release said. The study will establish a preferred alignment, conceptual design, and an access management plan for the corridor between Black Forest Road and Meridian Road.

Keizer man dies in crash on Highway 211 near Woodburn Salem Statesman Journal A man was killed in a crash Thursday afternoon east of Woodburn. Emergency crews and troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of the Woodburn-Estacada Highway, Highway 211, and South Meridian Road at about 12:30 p.m., according to Oregon State Police. Officials say Richard Russell, 84, of Keizer, was driving in a Ford Explorer when he turned from Meridian Road to Highway 211 and into the path of an oncoming semi truck. Russell died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash. Two passengers in the Ford were taken by Life Flight helicopter to Emmanuel Hospital.
