I will show you the scene behind me here because you have crews busy trying to restore power here at 35th avenue and walwona in San Francisco because of a downed line here. We are told that for some customers, around the bay area, the power may not be restored until this afternoon. Of course, these widespread outages were caused by last nights powerful thunderstorms. Lightning lit up the skies around San Francisco and many other cities. The National Weather service says there were roughly 1000 cloudtoground strikes reported across the bay area last night. Of course, these norms caused a variety of problems near Golden Gate Park. Lightning hit a tree which then fell on to a parked car at 25th near fulton. Thankfully, nobody was hurt there.
