Pakistan sees record registration of IT firms Business April 22, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has seen the largest-ever number of information technology companies registered during the current fiscal year, a top official said on Wednesday. Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Managing Director Osman Nasir said the PSEB is extending maximum facilitation to the IT Industry in order to enhance exports of IT products and services from Pakistan and ensure holistic IT industry growth. “The multipronged efforts are bearing fruit as the number of IT companies registered with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has surged to over 10,000. Fiscal Year 2020-21 witnessed the largest number of IT company registrations, with 2,826 companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan,” Nasir said in a statement.

Shrugging off pandemic, STPI units clock exports of ₹5-lakh crore in FY21 April 13, 2021 Bengaluru leads pack; IT exports growth pegged at 5-6% in FY22 Despite the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, about 5,100 units under the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) have clocked exports worth ₹5-lakh crore (provisional) in FY20-21. “About ₹4.60-lakh crore worth exports were registered in 2020-21. Despite enormous difficulties caused by the crisis, the STPI units could continue the growth momentum,” Omkar Rai, Director-General, STPI, told BusinessLine. Bengaluru led the pack, followed by Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurugram and Noida. “We are expecting a growth rate of 5-6 per cent in 2021-22 as the IT industry has the ability to transform other businesses in adopting digital technologies and helping them survive and grow in the difficult times,” he said.
