Congress calls for six-hour bandh in Odisha over rising fuel price, normal life affected Mohammad Suffian The six-hour bandh called by Odisha Congress against frequent fuel price rise and other issues is being observed across the state today, affecting normal life. Vehicular traffic has been disrupted in many parts of the state including in the capital city as Congress workers have resorted to road blockade at Satsang Vihar Square in Bhubaneswar. Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded at Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak and Sambalpur. Emergency services including ambulance, milk vans, vehicles carrying newspaper and examinees have been exempted from the purview of the bandh. Besides, vehicles draped with flowers for marriages and hearse vans were allowed to ply on roads.

The recipients of this award were honoured for ensuring swift transport mechanism to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, TUMI said in a notification. The IPS officer was praised for transforming the public transport system in Odisha during the COVID-19 pandemic. It saw bold changes through fulfillment of commuter-friendly measures like digital transactions, sitting-only passengers and enforcement of stringent COVID-19 protocols.

CRUT changes Mo Bus time to help students reach school

  |  A+A A- Express News Service BHUBANESWAR : In a goodwill gesture, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Saturday revised the timings of city bus service Mo Bus in one of its routes for the convenience of school students.  It all started when Sai Anwesh Amrutam Pradhan, a student of MBS Public School in the city, took to Twitter to register his grievance sharing how he is facing trouble in reaching school on time due to change in the timing of Mo Bus on the route no-13.  “My reporting time at school is sharp 7.30 am. Unfortunately, the first bus on route no-13 leaves at 7.40 from Lingipur. For this, I am facing a lot of problems and reaching school late,” wrote Sai in his tweet tagging the official handles of CRUT and its MD senior IPS officer Arun Bothra. Within hours, Bothra, known for his prompt response and people-friendly approach, replied to Sai saying that the timing of the bus will be changed to 7 am from Monday onwards and that he won’t be late

Here is why the CRUT MD had to change a ‘Mo Bus’ time. Sai Anwesh Amrutam Pradhan, a student of MBS Public School, Bhubaneswar, in a tweet addressed to the CRUT and Bothra had expressed his concern over the timing of the buses. “I want to state that I am a student of MBS Public School, Bhubaneswar. I use Mo Bus as my daily transportation means to go to school. Nowadays the timing of the buses are (sic) changed,” read his tweet. “My reporting time at school is sharp at 7:30 AM. But unfortunately the first bus of route no-13 leaves at 7:40 AM from Lingipur. As a result I will be late for my school. And for this reason I am facing a lot of problems,” another tweet read.
