The Murfreesboro Lions Club held its annual Christmas gathering at the Lions Club Building at the Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village. Local dulcimer players accompanied the singing of Christmas carols. The Murfreesboro Lions Club remembered longtime member Herman Johnson by posthumously presenting him with the âLion of the Decadeâ award. Herman helped thousands of community members obtain eyeglasses. He was known for his servant s heart, his hilarious stories, his love for family and his desire to help other people. The Murfreesboro Lions Club has been serving Rutherford and the surrounding counties since 1933.
