Five young children and a 24-year-old man were shot and killed early Tuesday at their home in Muskogee.The children’s mother also was shot, and she’s now fighting for her life at a Tulsa hospital.According to police, they received a call around 1:30 a.m. about a shooting at a home on Indiana Street. When officers arrived and before they knew the magnitude of what happened, they found the suspect holding a gun.“An officer fires at that suspect, who doesn’t drop the weapon,” said Lynn Hamlin, with the Muskogee Police Department. “That officer misses. The subject takes off running. There’s a short pursuit, and he’s taken into custody.”After a foot pursuit, police got the suspect in custody, and authorities could begin their investigation.
