Five Children and One Man Killed in Oklahoma House Shooting, Police Say

Officers responded to a call reporting shots at a house in Muskogee around 1:30 a.m.
Inside the home in the 900 block of Indiana Street, officers found the bodies of a man and four children, Officer Lynn Hamlin of the Muskogee Police Department told reporters.
A woman and a fifth child were airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The child died in hospital.
When police arrived, a suspect was leaving the residence with a gun in his hand, prompting an officer to fire one shot that reportedly missed.

One adult and five small children were shot and killed by a relative in Muskogee, Oklahoma, early Tuesday (February 2) morning. Police responded to a call that multiple people were shot and encountered the suspected shooter when they arrived.
The shooter brandished a firearm, and one of the officers fired a single shot from his service rifle but missed. The suspect fled from the scene but was apprehended following a short foot chase.
Inside the house, officers found six people had been shot. Four children and an adult male were dead at the scene. One of the children was still alive and airlifted to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A female victim also survived and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
