BANGKOK, Thailand – Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives has been named for the second year in succession as Leading Family Resort in the Maldives Travel Awards 2013.
The awards are presented each year by the Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO), which represents more than 50 organizations in Maldives.
Scoring for the awards is based on online votes from travel agents, operators and guests, and also on a rigorous inspection by judges, which includes a judging panel in Male and a visit by judges to the resorts.
The Seychelles national airline was among the top winners at this year’s World Travel Awards bagging four major accolades.
The travel awards on Saturday crowned Air Seychelles as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline for the third consecutive year and also the region’s best for Business Class and Cabin Crew service.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Air Seychelles has won both the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class and Leading Indian Ocean’s Cabin Crew awards.
For the first time in 2017, Air Seychelles was also crowned as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand.
Air Seychelles’ Chief Executive, Mr. Roy Kinnear led a delegation of the national airline’s senior management at the award presentation ceremony. The red-carpet event was held at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef – a five-star beach resort in the neighboring Indian Ocean island of Maldives.
