APED demands for more customers to be allowed into shops
The Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies (APED) has once again demanded the “rapid” increase in the ratio of people in commercial spaces, which it says is in Portugal, unjustifiably “the lowest in Europe”, threatening the viability of businesses.
“It is definitely necessary to rethink the issue of the ratio of people in stores in this moment of public health that we are experiencing. We have in Portugal the lowest ratio in Europe - five people per 100 square meters - unparalleled by any other member state at this time. Even countries that have another type of pandemic incidence have a higher ratio, usually at least twice as much as in Portugal”, said the general director of the APED during the presentation of the association s annual barometer.
Screening tests begin Tuesday at public and private schools
More than 50 thousand public school workers as well as employees of private establishments will begin to be tested at Covid-19 on Tuesday, the Minister of Education announced on 12 March.

Yesterday, the GNR ended an illegal party with 50 people, aged between 19 and 45 years old, which took place in a villa in the town of Cerro de Alfeição, in the municipality of Loulé. Following a noise report, the GNR were alerted that an illegal party was taking place inside a villa. Once they arrived it was possible to verify that the party was still going on, with some of the individuals outside the house. The people at the illegal party were told to finish the party, following this the police identified 50 people for violating of the general duty to stay home and the respective documents of contra ordination were prepared, and a news report was also sent to the Court of Justice of Loul
