Portugal have crashed out of the Euro2020 tournament after “a lack of luck” in the game which saw Belgium move forward to the next round.
President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, said that he thought that the Portuguese football team “played very well”, especially in the second half of the game against Belgium, but “we lacked that bit of luck “ to win in Seville, Spain.
The head of state was speaking to journalists at the end of the game between the Portuguese team, defending champions, who are now out, after losing 1-0 to Belgium, at the Estadio de La Cartuja, in Seville.
School rankings unfair and reductive
The Minister of Education has said that the ranking of educational establishments based on national exam averages is unfair and reductive , in addition to not reflecting the quality of school work .
Over the past two decades, the Ministry of Education has started to make available annually, at the request of the media, data on the results of students in national exams and tests, as well as the internal grades given by schools to students and some contextual data.
One of the lists of schools released this week is based on the average grades in the national tests of their students and for the Minister of Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, these tables “are reductive, unfair and do not reflect the quality of the work that is carried out by respective educational communities ”. In written statements to Lusa, the minister said that the students ratings depend on several factors that have no relation to the school s action .
