MMC provides facilities to 18,080 patients in a week

MARDAN: The management of the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) has released a detailed report on the performance of various departments of the hospital during the last one week, including Eidul Fitr, according to which 18,080 patients were provided medical facilities during the said period.
Medical Director (MD) Prof Dr Mukhtiar Ali said that during Eidul Fitr, all departments including Emergency Services, Surgery, Medicine, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Intensive Care Unit, Orthopaedic, Neurosurgery, ENT, Laboratory, Radiology, Dialysis, Peads, Dental and Accident and Emergency Departments were fully operational.
He said that a total of 3,187 patients were examined at the hospital during Eid while a total of 3,828 tests were performed adding 479 patients were admitted in different departments during the religious festival.

BKCD student tops BDS exam

PESHAWAR: A female student of the Bacha Khan College of Dentistry (BKCD) Mardan on Monday topped the final year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) professional examination-2021 held under the Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar.
According to a press release, Aiman Manan secured the first position in the BDS professional examination by obtaining 1,023 marks out of the total 1,200. Her mark percentage was 90. Overall, the BKCD pass percentage has been put at 95, thus being the best among all dental institutions.
She had already topped the second year BDS professional examination in 2019 and had got 2nd position in the 1st year BDS professional examination held in 2018 conducted by the KMU.
Situation in KP worsening as corona claims 34 more lives

PESHAWAR: Situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is getting worse with each passing day, with hospitals being flooded with coronavirus patients as the fast-spreading virus on Thursday claimed 34 more lives in the province.
In Mardan, the angry attendants of corona patients blocked the main busy Mardan-Peshawar road for traffic to lodge their protest against shortage of oxygen to their critical patients in the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) and accused the hospital administration of mismanagement in dealing with the Covid patients.
Health experts feared more rise in Covid patients in the coming days if the government did not take strict decisions of discouraging gatherings in weddings and funerals as well as ensuring lockdown in the markets and other public places.
