hristiansburg Councilwoman Johana Hicks is seeking an apology from other members of town council who in June voted to formally reprimand her.
Unfortunately, all the other council members appear to be on extended respites to Deep State enclaves such as Aspen, Colorado, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Kennebunkport, Maine. For your information, thatâs where good old boys gather to secretly plot against norm-busting, rabble-rousing populists.
In a spirit of helpfulness and sarcasm (and because Iâm an ace letter writer) Iâve drafted a response on behalf of Hicksâs vacationing colleagues.

Dear Councilwoman Hicks,
Please consider this letter a pungent apology for the slings and arrows youâve endured during your 18-month tenure on the Christiansburg Town Council. We are so sorry!
CHRISTIANSBURG â Councilwoman Johana Hicks is again under scrutiny, and her colleagues have drafted a resolution of reprimand.
The resolution against Hicks for whatâs being considered as a code of ethics violation has been drafted and the Town Council plans to discuss the matter in the coming weeks.
The resolution, which says council has a duty to citizens to âavoid the appearance of impropriety,â is a culmination of ethical concerns other council members have raised toward Hicks over the past year. The document, for example, makes reference to some past social media comments from Hicks that her colleagues found problematic.
Expected to be done by November 2022, the project will include four rectangular fields, two picnic pavilions, a splash pad, an inclusive playground and nearly two miles of trails.
