Glass for Europe is the trade association for Europe's flat glass sector. Glass for Europe brings together multinational firms and thousands of SMEs across Europe, to represent the whole building glass value-chain.
WAPRO decided to continue the successful cooperation with SOFTSOLUTION.
The LineScanner recently installed at the insulating glass factory, WAPRO, in Diedorf, Germany utilizes the latest in LineScanner technology. At the inspection station located after the washing machine, the SOFTSOLUTION LineScanner has inspected every single lite since the start-up.
As soon as the LineScanner detects any surface quality or coating defects, the signal lamp turns red and all defects are highlighted and displayed on the monitor indicating the exact positions of each defect. The LineScanner then stores all scan data in the connected archive database. Employees can quickly and easily access the archived data for statistical reports and much more. In addition, the data can be tied directly to production information to easily look up past results should any questions about the quality of a unit arise in the future.

To materialize, the Renovation Wave needs to be backed by an ambitious revision of both the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Energy Performance of Building Directive.
This is the message that the European flat glass and window industries represented by Glass for Europe, EuroWindoor, ARGE, European Aluminium, EPPA and ES-SO, want to send to EU legislators currently redesigning both the EED and EPBD.
The window sector supports the goal of reducing GHG emissions by 55% but recommends the introduction of an indicative sector-specific sub-target for buildings to ensure that building renovation finally takes off. In this context, public authorities have a major role to play and should lead by example by investing in the renovation of all governmental and public buildings.
