Mitchell Cooper ordered to pay an extra £540 for fly-tipping

A 35-year-old man who was fined £23,000 for five fly-tipping offences around Nursling and Baddesley has been ordered to pay another £540. Mitchell Cooper, of Hillyfields in Nursling, was found to have fly-tipped waste including two TV sets and bags of waste at the Broadlands Estate in Romsey on April 20 last year. He was ordered to pay a total of £23,072.75 in fines and costs after being sentenced at Southampton Magistrates Court in January. In a Facebook post, Cllr Nick Adams-King, deputy leader of Test Valley Borough Council, said Cooper tried to appeal his sentence on Friday April 16 but was ordered to pay an extra £540 instead.

Rubbish and rubble were discovered in one pile in Pound Lane, Sherfield English, around 6.30pm on Saturday, deputy leader for Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC), Nick Adams-King confirmed. He claimed witnesses saw a flatbed truck with only one rear light speeding off around the time of the crime. Household items, including children s toys, were discovered at the second pile around 7.30am on the same day. It was found in the layby on the A27 in Shootash - near the old restaurant The Blue Hayes.

1/1 A FLY-TIPPER who dumped tonnes of rubbish, including a haul of old tyres at a country estate, has been forced to pay more than £20,000 in costs and fines. Mitchell Cooper was found to have fly-tipped a load of 50 tyres, two TV sets and bags of waste at the Broadlands Estate in Romsey on April 20 last year. Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard that his truck had been spotted driving along nearby Spaniards Lane the same day. Then on May 27, the 35-year-old was stopped on a petrol station in North Baddesley by community police officers. According to Test Valley Borough Council, when Cooper was asked to produce his licence he refused to answer any questions.
