Addressing the gathering, the DPO said that the government is providing a number of schemes for women, adolescent girls and female children for their skill and socioeconomic development, health and nutrition, digital literacy and financial empowerment. He informed the purpose of such camps is to impart basic awareness to the potential women beneficiaries at their doorsteps and ensure their enrollment in various beneficiary oriented, welfare and self employment schemes.
On the occasion, the resource persons from Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Health, Handicrafts and Handloom, Horticulture, Agriculture, Industries and Commerce, ICDS and other departments apprised the participants about their respective women welfare schemes and elaborated the same in simplest terms. Stress was laid on livelihood generating schemes besides eligibility criteria; detailed registration process and procedure for availing benefits were explained thoroughly.

Srinagar: In connection with International Womens Day, celebrated on 8th of March every year, a number of functions to commemorate this day were today held across all the districts of Kashmir division.
