Top-40 WR Evan Stewart commits to Texas

The offensive skill continues to pour in for the Texas Longhorns as four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart announced his commitment via Twitter on Thursday evening.
The 6-0, 175-pound receiver from Liberty Frisco is one of the most-coveted players in the country, coming in as the No. 5 receiver and No. 40 player overall, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Stewart held offers from 35 schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M. He announced on January 10 that his recruitment was still open, but then just over three weeks later said he was shutting it down.

On Tuesday, Ross provided a time for his decision.
In mid-January, Ross received his first big offer from Baylor. Since then, he’s picked up offers from Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, and USC, as well as Arizona State.

Texas A&M Aggies and former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is back on the gridiron. Over the weekend, Manziel took his first snaps with the new upstart Fan Controlled Football League, which allows for fans to call plays for the teams on the field.
“We’re having a blast,’’ Manziel said, according to 247Sports. “This league is fun, and everybody that’s here is having a good time, so we’ll keep getting better.’’
