The Texas Longhorns were in contention for four-star receiver Jordan Hudson, but the big receiver picked the SMU Mustangs on Sunday.
The big-body receiver from Garland reopened his recruitment in June after being committed to the Oklahoma Sooners for nearly a year. Texas and SMU emerged as the schools to beat in the race for his services, along with Alabama, as the Longhorns recently hosted him for a visit, but the receiver chose to remain close to home. The Mustangs managed to land their second top 150 prospect in as many classes, after landing dual-threat quarterback Preston Stone in 2021.
