Shane M. Kennedy, 39, of Roaring Spring, passed away Monday. He was born in Altoona, son of Michael Kennedy and Sherri (Benton) Snyder.
Surviving are his father, of Roaring Spring; his mother and her husband, Wade, of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Brandey Kennedy and fiance, Chris Pavlick, of Salix; three children: Kalysta, Isabella and Barrett Kennedy; two nieces, Claire Kennedy and Kathryn Brendel; his grandparents, James W. and Marlene Kennedy; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sherwood Benton; and beloved grandmother, Dorothy Benton.
Shane was a 2000 graduate of Central High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and volleyball. He attended South Hills Business School, where he received an associate’s degree in networking and programming.

(Bloomberg) A cluster of the virulent U.K. strain of coronavirus in Australia rose to 11 on Thursday, with authorities saying it started in a Melbourne quarantine hotel by a person who used a nebulizer to treat a health condition.

GUILD In 1980, there was a knock on Da Wiggins’ front door.
It was Peter Burling and he was going door-to-door campaigning for a New Hampshire Senate seat against a popular Republican. Wiggins lived down the street from the Sturm, Ruger gun plant “where I was not a popular fellow,” Burling recalled.
Upon answering, Wiggins looked at the Cornish Democrat and said, “Are you crazy to be going around here? Come in here.”
