Targeting the early 2023 Assembly election in Tripura, the Trinamool Congress is currently busy strengthening its grassroots in the state and launching its second innings here with virtual telecasting of a speech by its supremo Mamata Banarjee in giant screens across the state on coming July 21, a senior party leader told Outlook.
Mamata Banerjee, however, asserted that her administration will stand by the former chief secretary of the state on the row over his not joining the central government.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has now appointed Bandopadhyay as her chief advisor as he has not opted for the three-month extension which he was granted earlier by the Centre following Banerjees request.
A home ministry official said the notice was served on Bandyopadhyay hours before his retirement on Monday for refusing to comply with the Central government direction, which he said constituted a violation of section 51-B of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The election results confirmed a conclusive win for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the incumbent Chief Minister of the State. She has already taken oath of office as the Chief Minister of the State for the third time though she lost in the election in her constituency Nandigram. As per the Indian Constitution, Mamata Banarjee will have to be elected in a bye election within 180 days. That should not be a problem for her. Paschimbanga, popularly k
