Bulletin Board: 40th Montague Mug Race set for Aug. 21 >Published: 7/9/2021 8:48:25 PM The 40th Montague Mug Race is scheduled to be run Saturday, Aug. 21 beginning at 8:30 a.m.  The race starts at the Village Green in Montague Center, with the course 5.5 miles in length. It offers hills, dirt roads and great views of the Connecticut River. The finish line is at the ball field on Station Road.  The top prize is a Pewter Mug for the top male and female finisher. Ceramic mugs are awarded to the top three finishers in each division and T-shirts are given to the first 65 people to register.

Staff file photo/Paul Franz >Published: 7/1/2021 8:48:03 PM After experiencing a year they describe as “challenging, exhausting and important,” the owners of Antenna Cloud Farm are happy to announce their return with an exciting musical lineup for 2021. In case you are not familiar with Antenna Cloud Farm, it is a multi-genre music festival and artists’ retreat located on a beautiful, 100-acre hilltop former dairy farm in the town of Gill. Launched in 2017 by composer Judd Greenstein and his wife, Juilliard-trained violinist and composer Michi Wiancko, the farm has hosted some dazzling performances over the years. The music they present is often described as “cutting edge” and “innovative,” words that aptly describe the upcoming lineup. However, this year will see far fewer shows than previous years.

The recent of passing of Dave Kaynor certainly left a huge hole in the world of fiddle music. We are so fortunate that he settled in Montague Center. Dave embraced village life, becoming a member of the Grange, serving as Master and forming bonds with.
