RVCC Celebrates the Class of 2021 During Second Virtual Commencement

Class of 2021: St Thomas Aquinas High School honors top 10 students

Rosabella Daraoui, Co-Valedictorian Rosabella is the daughter of George and Mona Daraoui of Rochester, New Hampshire. She is the younger sister of Karen, 21, and Jennifer, 19, both of whom are graduates of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She is also the proud older sister of Charbel, 10. Rosabella attended middle school at St. Elizabeth Seton School and is a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Rochester. Rosabella is a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. While at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she earned the Yale Book Award and the English Department Award (junior year), the Math Department Award (sophomore year), the French Department Award and Le Grand Concours Bronze Award (freshman year), and Le Grand Concours Honorable Mention (sophomore, junior, and senior years).

Lake Land College Hosts Virtual Student Recognition Event

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio May 11, 2021 | 2:21 PM Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Lake Land College held a virtual Student Recognition Event via Zoom April 28 to recognize several students for their achievements in the classroom and beyond. Interim Director of Student Life Dave Seiler hosted the event with faculty and staff offering praise for the outstanding student leaders. Lake Land College President Josh Bullock began the event with a few words of congratulations and appreciation to the students. “The strength in Lake Land College truly lies in our students,” Bullock said in his remarks. “It lies in the quality and commitment of our students to their educational journey and their learning process.”

Student Trustee Toothaker seated on SRC Board

Student Trustee Toothaker seated on SRC Board Submitted News CANTON Mary Toothaker, Farmington was sworn in as the 2021-2022 Student Trustee for the Spoon River College Board during their regular public meeting held April 28 at the Canton Campus. A member of the Student Government Association and a Student Ambassador, Toothaker was elected by her peers for the position and said she is looking forward to the learning experience and in being more involved with campus activities. Also taking the oath of office were re-elected Trustees Linda Butler and Jerry Cremer. The Board then approved Cremer as Chair, Kevin Meade as Vice Chair, and Phillip Murphy as Secretary for the coming year.
