Dec 23, 2020 RENOVO – A Lycoming County man is accused of trying to rape a cashier at a store in Renovo. Lance C. Baker, 35, of Linden, is being held at the Clinton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, accused by state police of attempted rape at a business in Renovo. Bail was set by Magisterial District Judge Frank P. Mills on Dec. 18. Baker entered the business just before 10 p.m. on Dec. 17 and attempted to sexually assault the cashier, police allege. “Baker walked up behind the clerk and grabbed the clerk, forcing her into the back room where Baker attempted to sexually assault her,” Trooper Brian Kitko wrote in a press release issued Tuesday.

A New Kensington man has been charged with aggravated assault after city police say he chased and hit a woman with a hammer and threatened to kill her last week, according to a criminal complaint. Ryan Christopher Grabigel, 40, is free on $10,000 bond while awaiting a preliminary hearing before District Judge Jason Buczak in Washington Township. A date for the hearing had not been set as of early Tuesday afternoon. Grabigel was arrested the day of the incident, which took place at his Edgewood Road home on Dec. 16, police said. He was released from Westmoreland County Prison the following day after posting $10,000 bail.
