Boston, MA (May 10, 2021) – The Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council is pleased to welcome new citizen Member Paul Lutfy.
Paul lives in Milford with his wife and 2 adult boys. He attended Franklin Institute of Boston for Electrical Engineering. Paul has worked as a Project Coordinator for DELL Technologies for the past 26 years.
Paul has a 27 year old son with severe cerebral palsy, medically fragile, who needs total care and resides at the Massachusetts Hospital School. Paul believes he can effectively represent people with developmental disabilities and lend his voice to their needs. Paul has worked with advocacy groups, organizations and legislators to advocate for human and disability rights.

Boston, MA (May 10, 2021) – The Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council is pleased to welcome Christine (Chrissy) Joyal as our Administrative Coordinator within our Budget Office. Chrissy will assist in conducting agency fiscal, information technology and general administrative operations.
Chrissy won a Victoria Holm Kramer Volunteer Recognition Award in 2018 from the Tourette Association of America. She was instrumental in educating both medical and education professionals on Tourette Syndrome, inspired by her own experience with her son who was diagnosed with Tourette and several co-morbid conditions at a young age. She engaged in school presentations for parents and helped create events for families and trainings for educators. She joined the board of directors for Tourette Association of America – MA Chapt

ROCHESTER State Sen. Michael Rodrigues has been awarded Legislator of the Year by the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council and The Arc of Massachusetts.
On March 3, Rodrigues will accept the award and give a speech alongside co-Legislator of the Year Josh Cutler at the council’s 43rd Annual Legislative Reception. The virtual ceremony provides a forum for legislators, people with disabilities, family members and other community members to celebrate Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness month.
Rodrigues was elected to the Massachusetts State Senate in 2010 and serves the First Bristol and Plymouth District, which includes Rochester.
In their work for those with disabilities, Senator Rodrigues and his staff have sponsored the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative bill, supporting more inclusive higher education in the Commonwealth, as well as vying in budgetary talks for those served by the Department of Dev
