After Criticism for Delay, County Announces Plan to Reopen Libraries, Senior Centers
After backlash from residents and community leaders, Montgomery County will be reopening some of its public libraries and senior centers.
On June 1, six library branches will reopen. Then, on June 14 two of the county’s seven senior centers will reopen.
The libraries that will reopen are:
Connie Morella Library, 7400 Arlington Road, Bethesda
Gaithersburg Library, 18330 Montgomery Village Ave.
Marilyn J. Praisner Library, 14910 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville
Olney Library, 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Road
Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave.
Silver Spring Library, 900 Wayne Ave.
The senior centers that will reopen are:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life in the 40 Middle Tennessee counties it serves, announces $2,246,667 in grants to 350 nonprofit organizations as part of the 2020 annual grantmaking process.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library has received a $5,000 grant to provide books for Imagination Library of Montgomery County.
“The work of our nonprofit partners has never been more important as we watch needs emerge and evolve in this community,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “The Community Foundation is honored to connect generosity with need through these annual grants and other avenues throughout the year, but we couldn’t have an impact without the array of quality nonprofits offering solutions to our community’s needs and vital services to our neighbors.”

Lawmakers return to Annapolis for start of unusual 90-day session
