According to Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith, close to 3,600 property owners have filed property value appeals in the last three months. BILL LACKEY/STAFF A local state representative wants Ohio to join other states that test the quality of gasoline sold at filling stations. Ohio, Alaska and Nebraska are the only three U.S. states without such a program. County auditors are required to inspect pumps currently, but are not allowed to test the quality of the gasoline. Local state Rep. Willis Blackshear Jr., D-Dayton, announced Friday he will co-sponsor House Bill 144, which would allow county auditors to authorize fuel quality testing programs in their home counties.
