MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A father who stood before cameras Wednesday afternoon to ask the public for help finding his newborn baby is now facing a capital murder charge for the childâs death.

During a Thursday morning news conference, The Montgomery County Sheriffâs Office announced the increased charge and said Whisnandâs $100,000 bond had been changed to no bond. Heâll remain in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - Authorities report that they have found the body of a baby who had been missing since Monday.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of 1-month-old Caleb Michael Whisnand Jr. Caleb’s body was found shortly after his parents gave a press conference Wednesday afternoon asking the public to help find their baby.
The manner of death was not released.
Investigators say the child’s father, Caleb Michael Whisnand Sr., was developed as a suspect and subsequently arrested on charges of manslaughter. He was placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with a bond of $100,000.
Demetruis Renard Keith, 28, is charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of second-degree assault. He is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on bonds totaling $195,000. Court records also list his name in previous arrests as Demetrius Renard Keith.
