Corporal Jeremy Burkett said the first chase occurred Sunday shortly before noon.
Troopers attempted a traffic stop for a tag violation on a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro driven by 31-year-old Gunvanta Thomas, of Mapleton, Georgia, on Southern Boulevard. Thomas did not pull over and gave chase, Burkett said.
According to Thomas charging documents, he drove in excess of 100 mph, running a red light and making multiple unsafe lane changes. He then attempted to make a right turn onto Mobile Highway at a high rate of speed when he began to lose control of the Camaro striking a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was stopped at the red light.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of George Wheeler, 29.
According to Montgomery Police Lt. Jarrett Williams, David Lamont Boyd, 35, is charged with murder.
Williams says the murder happened Wednesday. Officers and fire medics responded to the 5900 block of Oakleigh Road where they found Wheeler suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
An initial investigation revealed that Boyd and Wheeler knew each other and were involved in an altercation.

Montgomery police say they have arrested and charged a man in connection to a homicide that happened earlier this week on Oakleigh Road.
MPD Spokesperson Lt. Jarrett Williams said 35-year-old David Lamont Boyd of Montgomery has been arrested and charged in the death of 29-year-old George Wheeler.
Lt. Williams said officers responded to the 5900 block of Oakleigh Road just before 2:00PM on Wednesday.
Once they arrived on the scene, the victim, later identified as Wheeler, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Wheeler was pronounced dead on the scene.
