3rd suspect arraigned from March 1st shooting

Juan McConnell (32) Photo: MCSO ZANESVILLE, Ohio The third of three brothers accused in a March 1 shooting appeared Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. 32-year-old Juan McConnell (pictured) pleaded not guilty to more than 70 counts including charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, discharging a fire arm into a habitation and discharging a firearm across a roadway. Two co-defedants, 32-year-old Jamarr McConnell and 29-year-old Terrel McConnell previously pleaded not guilty to the same charges. Jamarr McConnell was also indicted on one count of having a weapon while under disability. The three men are accused of involvement in a March 1 shooting on Bates Street in Zanesville. The shooting victim, Robert Gladden, was taken to Genesis Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was treated and released the same day.

Nashport man faces more than 5 decades in prison ZANESVILLE, Ohio A Nashport man was sentenced Wednesday to 44 years to life to 51-and-a-half years to life on multiple charges including kidnapping, rape, trafficking in persons and pandering obscenity involving a minor. 28-year-old Christian Harmon pleaded guilty to the charges in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. Authorities discovered the crimes against the two-year-old child in September, while investigating a separate report that Harmon had violently injured a seven-week-old baby. The infant was taken to the hospital suffering from multiple injuries including a skull fracture, broken bones and spinal damage. Harmon was previously sentenced to eight years in prison for assaulting the child. Judge Mark Fleegle ordered the sentences in the two cases to run consecutively, so Harmon faces 59-and-a-half-years to life in prison.

Cambridge woman arrested in aftermath of shooting pleads guilty ZANESVILLE - A Cambridge woman involved in the aftermath of a shooting that left a Zanesville man injured at his home on Bates Street earlier this month quickly accepted a plea deal Wednesday morning in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.  Jasmine Harding, 21, was arrested Saturday at Cambridge apartment alongside one of three suspects charged with attempted murder.  Harding was charged with one fourth-degree felony count of attempted obstructing justice in the case.  She pleaded guilty to a prosecutor s bill of information containing that charge.  Attorneys recommended she be sentenced to community control.
