HUBBALLI: Theme-based calendars are passe. That people keep innovating with the design every successive year attests to the scope that calendars offers for variation in design.
However, Varadashri Foundation, a forum in Hubballi, has come out with a calendar – Jnana Kundali – that has a four-fold objective, and is meant to encourage people to keep themselves well, both mentally and physically. In addition to helping organic farmers earn some income, the calendar aims at improving the health of those dwelling in cities, to inspire urban children to dream and finally, generate employment opportunities for youngsters by driving the demand for organic and healthy articles in the cities. The organisation is, in addition to rolling out the calendar, forming a network of all stakeholders, all of whom are swearing an oath to help one another.
