Amid hours of casino proposals and budget deliberations at Monday’s City Council meeting, a local brewery got the final approval it needed to bring a new taproom to Church Hill.
The council voted to grant a special-use permit for the former Richmond Association of Masonic Lodges building at 520 N. 25th St., where Petersburg-based Trapezium Brewing Co. is planning a satellite location called “93 by Trapezium.”
El Pasoan Jose Aranda was looking forward to seeing Ramón Ayala in concert in December. I m a lifelong fan, and I know he’s getting up there in age. . It would have been special to see him, he said.
The concert was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, and Aranda was understanding.
But four months later, the concert, set for Ricky D s, has not been rescheduled. And Aranda is frustrated that he has not been able to get a $65 refund for two tickets. I have tried asking them repeatedly to reimburse me because I believe it is unfair to keep someone’s money when they do not have a new date yet, he said. Also, I’m asking for a refund because of the way they have treated me; basically ignoring me and I do not like that nor think it is good business.

Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day 2021 by visiting these suburban Portland bookstores
Updated 5:00 AM;
Independent Bookstore Day looks a little different this year – again.
The American Booksellers Association’s annual celebration of indie bookstores is typically held on the last Saturday in April. In early 2020, as the pandemic spread, Independent Bookstore Day was rescheduled to the last Saturday in August, in hopes that bookstores would be operating normally by then. We all know how that story ended.
For 2021, with a year of pandemic selling experience under everyone’s belts, Independent Bookstore Day is back to its usual April date. Participating stores plan unique celebrations that can include raffle baskets, prizes, discounts, special merchandise and more – but many of the celebrations will be virtual.
